Laura Kimball seems a bit contradicting herself in the latest prompt. Quoting the fortune-cookie on topic of speaking less on own plans and than asks us what are our plans… So I won’t again stick with the point of the prompt, but rather just connect to “less speaking”.

Although I have been bombarding you with my thoughts and world-views in all my blog posts, I personally like being the LISTENER. Because listening is the key to understanding and only understanding allows me to help & influence people around me.

Thanks to my listening character, I have many times been considered “silent” and maybe “out of topic”. But that always gives me the leverage to surprise the group with to-the-point inputs and broad understanding of the topic.

I believe we should listen twice as much as we talk.

[important]What about you ? Do you really listen to people, or you just restlessly wait and prepare for your chance to talk?[/important]

I’d love to “hear” your thoughts so I can learn from you.

During discussions, not only active listening plays a vital role. It should go along with putting the right questions. Input for next post:)

Thank you Bubu for your comment! Actually, giving the right question is indeed a topic that I will sooner or later cover. I have been preparing something special for that for some time ;)
Till than, keep hanging around and good luck with being good listener!

  2. Thanks for pointing how how contradictory my prompt was — you make a very excellent point, one that I hadn’t even realized. To answer your question directly, I’m a listener too :)

Hi Laura, welcome to MomentsToLive :) and thanks for stopping by. I hope the listening is for you as contributing as it is for me. And hope to see you round here again.
